aligning our actions with our values
A recording of a previously-live webinar.
We are living through a moment of heightened crisis, as we watch the genocide of the Palestinian people unfold in real time before our eyes. So many are feeling totally overwhelmed, unsure of how to act; others are triggered by the current trauma we are witnessing, and by past traumas that this horrific event is bringing to the surface. It is a time in which many feel totally unmoored. frozen, overwhelmed, and unable to take action.
Why talk about values in a moment like this? Our values are our "why" behind the choices we make in the world. When we ground in our values, we take purposeful and aligned action. Our values are an anchor that we can turn to when our survival responses have taken over. Getting clear on our values also helps us figure out how we can contribute to the causes that we’re passionate about.
In this 2hr workshop, you will:
Determine your core values;
Understand how stress and trauma can cause us to act out of alignment with our values;
Learn to identify the survival responses that come up for you when under pressure;
Discuss how you can return to your values as a way to move through your survival responses so that you can act from your values;
Have the opportunity to gather in community with others who’re committed to living in integrity with similar values.
You’ll also receive the 30-page workbook that this workshop is based off of, filled with additional activities and reflections for you to work with.
Important notes:
This workshop will involve breakout groups and large group discussions. Participants can obviously choose to opt out breakout groups.
This workshop will be happening over zoom and the link to join the call will go out an hour before the workshop.
Registration closes 24 hrs before the workshop start time.
