About the zine:
This special edition zine was created as part of my Kickstarter back in the fall of 2021 for the backers of my book Touch Me, I’m Sick. Many of the chapters in my memoir come from my dissertation of the same title, but the chapter “Soft Magic” is entirely new.
Here, I look at the relationship between witches, hysterics, and the chronically ill. I share the ways in which ritual, astrology, and tarot became vital practices in my healing in the summer of 2017, and how healing our trauma is one of the witchiest practices there is. I also discuss my installation for the #Crip Ritual exhibit. My hope with this zine is to offer roadmaps for healing through trauma-informed witchery.
