Chaotic Love: A Webinar for Folks with Disorganized Attachment and Those Who Love Them

Attachment theory has become popularized in conversations around healing and intimacy. Unfortunately, the focus tends to be on anxious and avoidant attachment, with very little discussion on the disorganized style. When people do talk about disorganized attachment, it is often through the lens of doom and gloom, as though those of us who’re chaotic in our love will forever struggle in our relationships. But this doesn’t have to be true. What we need is a depathologized approach to disorganized attachment that centers curiosity, compassion, and collaboration.
In this webinar, folks will:
Learn about how disorganized attachment is formed by our intimate relationships as well as through systemic oppression;
Gain an understanding of key concepts related to disorganized attachment, including safety maps, the ladder of inference, structural dissociation, and parts work;
Be offered tools to use with loved ones (that center compassion, curiosity, and collaboration) and that can support us in moving from disorganized attachment towards secure connection.
What this webinar isn’t:
A therapeutic container for processing trauma;
A formal training for therapists or others in the mental health profession (only because I am not a trained therapist — please see my credentials and training below);
A space to question the validity of peer-to-peer learning.
About the facilitator:
I am a trauma educator. I hold certificates in Somatic Parts Work, Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy, and Embodied Social Justice. These trainings allow me to teach about trauma — but do not certify me to practice trauma healing with others. I offer my knowledge, from my lived experience as well as my training, as a gateway to pursuing these healing modalities with a therapist or other mental health professionals.
I am an author and weirdo academic. I hold a PhD in English Literature and Sexual Diversity Studies from the University of Toronto, where my dissertation explored the intersections between chronic illness, complex trauma, queerness, and intimacy. I just finished my first book manuscript, Touch Me, I’m Sick, and have self-published 11 zines about my lived experience with chronic illness, complex trauma, and attachment wounding.

Workshop Cost:
I strive to make my offerings accessible for everyone, regardless of income. I've created sliding scale options with the hopes that those who can contribute more will do so, thus enabling me to offer free/low-cost spots to those who need them.
Level 1: $0 for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. 50 spots available for the live session; unlimited for the recording only.
Level 2: $25. For those who’re low income, no savings, have minimal expendable income each month, and couldn't otherwise afford to attend without this option. If you are a white person and cost is an access barrier, please email jaime@margeauxfeldman.com, the amount you can pay, and they will issue you a discount code.
Level 3: $45. For those who’re low to mid-income, with some money in savings and/or financial support from family; has some expendable income each month.
Level 4: $65. For those who’re mid- to high-income/stably employed, with savings account and financial safety net; can afford to take vacations and make other large purchases with relative ease.
Level 5: $85. For those who’re upper class and/or have benefited from intergenerational wealth and who would like to help balance the scales for the low cost tickets.
